Shepard Insurance Agency got its start in 1945, when current owners Scott and Gary Shepard’s grandfather opened an independent insurance agency in Los Angeles, just across from Farmers Market.

The business grew steadily as he built a reputation for friendly service, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to the best interests of his clients. He later moved the agency to a larger office near what is now the Beverly Center, and his dedication to doing right by his customers never changed. Those values became the foundation of the business and helped create client relationships that lasted for decades.

 

In 1960, Scott and Gary’s father, Lew Shepard, took over the agency. Under Lew's leadership, Shepard Insurance Agency expanded into the San Fernando Valley to serve the area’s growing population and business community.

 

Shepard Insurance became a third-generation family business in the 1990s when Gary joined the firm and later took over following his father’s retirement. Scott joined in 2000, and together the brothers continued to grow the company. Today, Shepard Insurance is based in Studio City and has also expanded to serve residents all over the country.

 

While much has changed over eight decades, Shepard Insurance Agency remains family-owned and guided by the same principles it was built on: service, expertise, and integrity.
